Here is what I will do for this post to have it show up:

  • Write the article with an emphasis on what people want for themselves or their business.
  • Have a descriptive, attractive splash image that appears when the post is shared or listed.
  • Write a compelling description for the post that will appear with the splash image.
  • Submit the post to Google Search Console.
  • Do a StreamYard Video Podcast about the post to LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, and other platforms. There will always be a link back to the page.
  • Use a Social Media poster to send the video to Instagram and other platforms not included in my StreamYard broadcast.
  • Copy and paste the article and publish on Substack, LinkedIn Newsletter, and Alignable.
  • Email to a targeted list.

Tip: I start the Video Broadcast as a LinkedIn Event, which lets me invite guests and specific LinkedIn connections to watch.

If I do this with something people want, like concert or theatre tickets, sales will start in hours.

Bonnie and I started doing live interviews on StreamYard almost a decade ago, inspired by Maria Forleo, and continue to cover various topics.

Most get hundreds of views on LinkedIn. Some thousands. Here are my LinkedIn Analytics for the last year:

LinkedIn Analytics. 68,190 impressions over 365 days.

The steep jump came from an interview with musician and producer Mick Dalla-Vee for Playing Music for Fun, which has 37,577 impressions and counting.

I am not quite sure why that interview got so many views, though Mick is well known in the Vancouver music scene and the show notes mentioned his association with Randy Bachman (The Guess Who, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Vinyl Tap, …), and music tribute show for The Beatles, Lennon and McCartney, Simon and Garfunkel, Elton John and Billy Joel.

It is not all about the numbers. Last week, someone booked an appointment with me to talk about real estate investing based on a broadcast I did with Maurice Thomas Jr two years ago.

I have not tracked how many clients people get from being on a show, but some do. Steve Brossman sent me a referral reward from an offer he made on the interview.
